Kitty duty today! And my erstwhile partner decided to show up this time. She apologized for not being there last time and said now she's got it on her alarm or whatever to notify her the next time she needs to be there. UHHH as if it's really hard to figure out when it's supposed to be? It's every other Saturday so it's not that difficult to figure out which week you go. Did you go last week? No? Then you go this week. Stayed after again for a little bit to snuggle with one of the kitties they keep off by herself, poor thing's all lonely in the office. One of the cats adopted out was brought back due to continual peeing on the new home's carpets.

Gamefly apparently got my game back quicker this week and made up for the speediness by sending me a notice they have to ship my next game, Trivial Pursuit, from PITTSBURGH. Because certainly don't want me thinking them to be speedy or some such. Honestly, it was just a filler game and I didn't want it so badly they had to send it from Pittsburgh, for crying out loud.

Brother in law was reading about new homeowners tax credit, even for people who've had their homes longer than five years, and also thought he read something about a credit to help small business owners, where the government will match a year's profit? Anyone heard of such a thing? Thinks he read it in the Oregonian but might have been Columbian, so might have to hit the library to check out the papers, as their websites don't provide any story like that. Don't have a huge amount of profit, $20K, according to sister, but $20K would be useful to have, for sure!

While checking out bluray players on Sears' website--especially the Samsungs that stream Netflix--I applied for a charge card on a whim and, unless someone in the home office wakes up and goes NO WAYYY, I will be receiving a Sears charge card with a credit limit of $900 in two weeks. WOO HOO! I lied on the income portion of it but who doesn't fluff up their income numbers when it comes to charge cards? Not gonna go whole hog on it, I will use it to buy the bluray player for sister's Xmas present, the present for the whole dang family, and pay it off, like I would if I was doing layaway on it. It would be a good card to keep due to the automotive department, handy for any kind of repair thing needing to be done, though KNOCK ON WOOD that it wouldn't be needed. Their plus size department is even smaller than JCPenney's and as expensive, but they got a better kitchenware department and unlike JCPenney, the kitchen electronics selection is not skewed to their own store brand.

Working my way through my Gamefly list. Tried Fable 2, not interesting enough to keep longer than a night, also did Left 4 Dead and though I'm not a big fan of first person shooters, I think I'll get it once it goes down to cheap, like $20 cheap. Also got Dragons Age on the list, for when it comes out, and gonna try Uncharted 2, when that comes available. Demon's Souls and Fairytale Fights, plus Overlord II. The first Overlord was fun, though I didn't finish it, and the second should be fun too.

Even without the subs for Japanese dialogue, I recognized akuma as demon, from waaay too much anime lol. The opening comedy sequence was amusing, and what the show could have been in the wrong hands. And them poking fun at various shows, Dean with his secret thing for the Grey's Anatomy clone and his dislike of procedural cop shows. Plus the shy almost flirting reaction to Dr. Sexy LOL.

The Trickster is sounding an awful like Zachariah with his harping on Sam and Dean playing out the roles they've been given. And dead too easily...KNIGHT RIDER LMAO! Yeah, it was too easy for the seeming kill.

HUH so all along the Trickster was actually Gabriel? Which would explain why the stake never killed him, and never would. What better way to hide off the celestial radar than as a pagan spirit? CLEVER, Gabriel! But for all his cleverness he's as much stuck on the destiny kick as Zachariah, and as stuck on the desire to have it all end. The boys are being obtuse in not seeing the parallels there, the emotionally detached father figure, the older brother devoted to the rebellious young brother.

Actually liked the Trickster better as a pagan spirit, messing with people for the hell of it, teach them a lesson or just out of boredom. The beginning bit was to draw the boys in, I expect, and just that.

So...HUH. Not as interesting as it could have been, though the revelation about the Trickster was a nice twist. I'd expected them to play up the TV Land bit longer than that. The show needs to pick it up, too much time spent on things other the Apocalypse storyline, so when they get to working it out, it's going to be too rushed. Last episode I really liked was The End, the others after were...meh. Next ep...they go to a Supernatural convention? LOL. I think the show needs to decide what it wants to do, stand alone eps or mythology eps.
V remake first...

Not bad as a re-imagining of the original. It could have used more time to set things up but not bad.

The terrorist cell angle is taken from endless episodes of 24 and it's a nice twist to have the Visitors implanting their own cells to muck things up. Though it's too much a cop-out to blame all of humanity's ills on the Visitors; if the human tendency to fuck things up wasn't already there, wouldn't be anything to play on, would there? A couple nice twists though with the FBI agent/Visitor undercover. But it did need more setup time, more showing WHY people are against the Visitors.

Things are continuing to get even more screwed up with the MC on Sons of Anarchy. Loyalties shifting, others becoming unsure of Clay's leadership capabilities. Tig annoyed about doing token gun duties and perceiving it as either a slight or a reason to be discontent with Clay. Opie continues to blindly follow along Clay and acting like Jax stood up him for prom or something, the way he gets all miffed when Jax is along to help him out.

The attempt to get the judge to do what they wanted and Opie going off on him, identifying what's really behind his behavior. He believes he's the one who killed his family and now he's hopefully had a breakthrough and is ready to move on, to be who he was before. The porn girl, Lila, is not exactly the best choice for a partner; he strikes me as not the typical biker working his way through biker groupies, Donna certainly wasn't a biker groupie.

And...I was beginning to wonder when Jax would reach the point where he says, no more. Every turn he's tried to take the club away from the illegal activities, he's thwarted, had to fight for every step. The burning of the studio was to hurt Samcro but did Zobelle actually have enough intuition to realize the destruction of Caracara would cause the split between Clay and Jax?

Promo for next week and Gemma owning up to the death of Jax's dad maybe not being an accident. I'd figured from the start that it wasn't, but then I also figured Gemma was, if not part of it, at least aware of what happened and chose to align herself with Clay, because she felt it was best for the club.

Bleah, being picky doesn't work well with low funds. Trying to find shoes and it's hard when you have wide feet and need to have a size 11, because there's not a lot to choose from, and Famous Footwear for one doesn't stock crap in the way of size 11. Nothing at Sears, found ONE pair I kinda liked at Payless but only the one pair and when it's BOGO I feel obligated to get a second pair.

Was parked by Macy's so decided to go in there and take a look around. I found a cute light purple top for FIVE BUCKS. There was this other top I had great love for but even at 40% off it was $35 and my love for it was not that great, I decided. Also decided that I need to regularly hit up the 75% off rack to find more bargains. They have a lot of really nice stuff but it's also expensive and when I look at the tag to see where it's made, it's generally in the kind of country where a worker's weekly pay is probably the same as the retail price of a T-shirt. And when you grow up in lower middle class, where money was always tight when it came to clothes and shoes, you tend to be frugal with your money. Clerk asks if I want to apply for a Macy's card and, DANG, even if they did give me one, it'd be one shopping trip to max it out. Their clothes are expensive but their cookware has some nice, reasonable prices so it'd be a toss up between clothes or nifty cooking pans lol.

The remake of V is on tonight, Syfy ran the old miniseries over the weekend and it'll be interesting to see how the new version stands up. Watching the old one, it's also nteresting how so many young members of the cast didn't do much of anything acting wise past the series, basically dropping out of Hollywood sight. Of the cast Michael Ironside is probably the only one who was been working consistently. Just goes to show the craggy character actors generally last longer than the pinup-pretty ones.

STILL got this dang cough, am ready for it to GO AWAY. It's been more than a week, dang it. It's annoying to cough so hard the bladder lets loose just a little bit, requiring a change of pants.

Happy Halloween!

And...BORED. Hadn't been horribly slow, did a decent amount of sales, but in between was bored and wanting to go home. The desire to go home was only increased by a repeat visit from a mom and her two little ones, dad tagging along this time but NO USE AT ALL. Little brat kid tossing his orange tic tacs all over the floor, or if not tossing then just dropping them and apparently picking them up is beyond him and parents.

Had pizza delivered to store while still there, too lazy to pick it up afterward. Then to continue my oh so exciting Halloween I took a nap when I got home lol.

What's up with no horror movies on HALLOWEEN??? You'd think at least HBO would be playing something horrific, and I'm not talking Australia. Oh, sure, they're doing True Blood, but each night they seem to be playing the same eps from the first season, and of course ones I've seen already. Only decent horror movie playing is the ultimate classic, Night of the Living Dead.

"V" starts up on Tuesday. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, compared to the original. I saw the original way back when, as it aired, and then followed the short lived TV series it spawned. It was a darned good show, even if the plot did have a tendency to veer into soap opera territory, especially with the backstabbing antics of the Visitor commanders, but then it was the heyday of prime time soaps. No new Glee till...when? A few more new Supernatural and then hiatus.

Ahh this time of year, it's all about people looking for obscure things to add to their costumes. And it's the time of year where I mentally compile a list for next year, but inevitably it's not the same things they want year to year, so what can you do, huh?

Bought candy to hand out and will probably end up eating more of it than what we hand out lol. Though not right away, as my stupid stomach is in that post sickness state where it's not sure if it's feeling nauseated or hungry so it does BOTH. Hungry and vaguely nauseous, lots of fun, 'cause I get to feeling a little shaky due to not eating but stomach isn't always super cooperative. Better get it straight by Saturday, stomach, 'cause I wants me Halloween pizza!

The boyo gives Sam the CLAP! I laughed so much I choked, since I'm still raspy and prone to coughing. No years lost but a case of the crawlies to make you wish otherwise, huh? LOL. But Sam in the end saves the day pulling a psychological dodge on the boyo, playing up his fear for Dean's continuing health so it looked like he had a crap hand.

AWWW, Bobby, you are not worthless. Yeah, you can't ride into the hunt anymore like you used to, but it was always your expertise and knowledge of the supernatural that brought other hunters to your door. You haven't lost that at all. The pep talk was heartfelt and sure to produce a bit of misty eyes, because what Dean says is true. Bobby's not just another hunter to them, he's family, he's the dad the boys no longer have, and probably was even a father figure for them in their growing years. He's always going to have something to contribute to the fight.

Chad Everett did a good job of playing OldDean, especially whiny Dean confronted by the failing of his body, which you know Dean would really be like.

Again, not a great ep. One problem I had with the previous one and the antichrist kid is how they spent the first half playing up the gruesome humor of the deaths and then tried to shift gears into the more serious topic. Didn't work well in the last one and for me it doesn't work well very often when they try it. Next week is the TV zone one and while it looks like it might also be amusing, it's also cutting into the whole Apocalypse arc and making you wonder when they're getting back to it, sheesh. I guess after the new year and the new startup, post holiday hiatus?

First Otto, now Luann? Thought it was her headliner porn star at first but apparently not. Without her the business flounders, there's no one to step up. The club's problem is that they keep underestimating Caruso's viciousness; a guy who's leaving dead dogs inside the studio itself isn't going to step back just because you slap him around a bit. He's escalated steadily from the beginning and the club was just too full of its own power to intimidate to realize some people don't scare so easy. Some people, harder you push them, the worse they'll strike back and at vulnerable people.

Now Weston--the Henry Rollins character--I find his wanting to be in on the gun delivery to Zobelle to be interesting. Stallings said Zobelle was under the FBI's radar and I'm thinking Weston might well be undercover. The FBI would need Zobelle to take a direct delivery to tie him into the guns and by Weston seeing the guns to him, that sets the connection. Could be wrong but it'd make an interesting little twist.

Chibs' wife is cool, hopefully we get to see more of her and their background. Breaking point between had to have been the club. At least Chibs will be coming back into play, unlike poor Otto.

Widening divide in the club and old timer Bobby definitely going to be shifting to Clay's side, especially with the tiff between him and Tig. Jax could take the easy out, let Opie know what Clay did, but even in his dissatisfaction with the club's direction, he's not going to do the thing that could well split the club apart. And take away what little support Opie has left.

Am home, having my very first sick day in the four years the shop has been open.

Started up Saturday with a tickle in my throat and excessive coughing, building up to coughing hard enough to make me gag and try to bring up whatever it is stuck in there. Still coughing on Sunday but moving around, did some cleaning, cooked dinner. Breaded pork loin chops with sausage gravy and mashed potatoes, should have been a sign that while I was cooking it, stomach wasn't all that interested in what I was doing. Only ate half of what was on my plate, and that felt too much, and then later...Toilet, meet Dinner. The flu has apparently commenced. Only threw up one more time though, and was trying to this morning but nothing to throw up, just a pounding headache from the coughing and attempts to retch. Feeling better now, after resting, and had a piece of toast, will have some soup and crackers later on, I think.

It's going around, niece has apparently also got it, as well as sister's friend, showing the same beginning symptoms I did, but thankfully it's short lived, for me at least. Just wasn't sure how well I'd do at the store so called sister last night and she agreed I should stay home. Will get back there tomorrow, as I'm sure I'll be ready by then. The headache seems to finally be ebbing and moving more into runny/stuffed up nose cold kinda thing. Think I had a bit of a fever too as my face felt hot and I wasn't flushed at all, I was overheated enough to open up window to get cool air in or at least to make it cool enough in her so I can snuggle under blanket.

Saturday did the cat shelter, ALONE again, because apparently my "partner" has a thing about remembering to go somewhere every other week. Last time she didn't show up till I was about ready to leave and gave me her phone number to call her and remind her but, hell, I'm not her mommy and I can slog through it on my own. One of the kitties had appointed himself Snack Monitor and followed me around as I collected plates, to make sure everyone licked theirs clean. Stayed over an extra ten minutes to snuggle with the one kitty they keep separate in the office, as she apparently doesn't get on well with others. There was another new orange colored kitty named Goldy, who I've dubbed Grumpy instead, as kitty is wandering restlessly around growling at others and just being grumpy. She might be another case for isolation as she also doesn't seem happy to have others around.

Almost Halloween and one's fancies turn to scary films and what is really scary about a film.

Scariest movie I've ever seen? Burnt Offerings. I saw it when I was...gahh...twelve? I'm too lazy to look at IMDB and see when it came out, I just know I saw it when it was originally released in the theaters so I was still young. It was one of those movies that scared me so very fucking bad I HATED it lol. I couldn't sleep that night, because I kept seeing images from the movie, and the scariest was the chauffeur with his death head's grin. Years later, I watched it again and, yeah, it failed to scare as much as it did that first time. It was always stick in my head for how very scary it was, for my pre-teen self.

In my early years with horror films, "scary" was the popping-out-at-you things. An overused staple of horror films, to be sure, but it still works if you learn how to time it just right. Zombies were never terribly scary, as I cut my horror teeth on repeated viewings of the original Night of the Living Dead, shown with loving dedication every summer on Creature Features.

Nowadays, it's the subtler creepy things, the flash of something out of the corner of the camera's eye, the lengthening shadows and distorted shapes they make. GHOSTS, because I still sleep with the light on. Maybe it's always been ghosts, ever since my grandpa died way back when and I used to have dreams about him, scary only in that I knew in the dream he was dead and shouldn't really be there. Even then the thought of someone reaching out from the other side was not a happy one for me lol. Blair Witch Project succeeded in its approach of hinting and not really telling or showing, just playing on our fears of the dark.

The pop-out-at-you thing still works and though I hate it, like any decent masochist, I like the idea of confronting this fear/hate and going to haunted houses, watching scary movies. Though I think I'm gonna avoid Paranormal Activity, though I don't think it's going to be as scary for me as it seems to be for everyone else.

LOL and I woke up at 5:30 this morning JUST so I could go look online and see if the Darker than Black sub showed up. And, lo, it did!

Just as I thought, BK201's star vanishing is not the same meaning as it falling, just means Hei in some way lost his power. Temporary or permanent? Remains to be seen. Even the team responsible for the loss seemed a little surprised by the results of what they did, whatever the hell they did.

The end of Darker than Black, with the whole metaphysical Evangelion-level of obscurity, makes me unclear still if Hei came out of the Gate with Yin. Or did he lose her afterwards? Maou asks him about Yin and of course Hei doesn't respond, so I'm unsure if he's had no contact at all with Maou and the syndicate in the two years that have passed. Is Yin's loss recent or going back to the Gate? Did she never come out of it?

With all the mumbo jumbo Amber was spouting about Hei and his sister it's like...his sister lives in him? Or the power she had was transferred to him, and she became a part of him that way? There would be parallels then with Suou and Shion, because I'm beginning to think Shion died with the meteor hit and Suou became him as well as her. Looking back, her dad's reaction to seeing Suou come out of Shion's room makes me think he is indeed dead, and for some reason Papa was continuing the charade of him being alive. And if Suou was simply dressing up as him periodically, it would make sense that April thought there were two of them as well.

Even without his powers, Hei is still a resourceful badass so it's off to Tokyo! And hopefully a future explanation on what happened to Yin, and how Hei lost his power, and how he gets it back. Or maybe he learns how to live without it, to be HEI and not Lee or any other character he's taken on previously.

Rented Drag Me to Hell and so there's going to be a spoiler in the review for that one too.

Sam, Sam, Sam...

The gross out sight gags were old by the time you got to Darkman. I understand this is your return to the genre that gave you a directorial break into the movies but, honestly, this worked better when you had a shoehorn budget in Evil Dead and no name actors, only one of which ever became something of a name. Here, it's just silly, and stupid, and I might have laughed at the gags in Army of the Dead, but here, they're just old and tired.

Plus Alison Lohman? I've seen her in two things and she's impressed me in neither. In this she's a wispy, wimpy little thing, even wimpy in her later attempts to be a badass of Ash level. Not enough personality there to really care whether or not she's going to hell. The romance between her and Justin Long is awkward and lacking in any sense of passion.

And, HEY, where's the people protesting this continual Hollywood stereotype of the evil curse-delivering gypsy? Denigrate any other race, even cut them out of a film supposedly peopled by various ethnic types--looking at YOU, Avatar movie--and you'll get droves of protestors, online and offline. Continue the stereotype of thieving gypsies? No one out there defending the Rom, is there?

That aside, taking on the plot and character, do you really want to work a management position in a bank where you're required to toss poor old ladies out on the street because their medical bills kept them from paying bills? Oh, WAIT, that's any job in the loan industry. Never mind. But in an ideal society/world, a bank should be willing to extend that kind of help to their customers, to prove the endless commercials of them rescuing puppies and kittens means they're really good people you should bank with, not the types to sell puppies and kittens to med labs for testing.

In short, Drag Me to Hell is more like Drag Me Away from the Monitor Before I Fall Asleep. And ICK for the continual vomiting scenes while I'm eating lunch.

WHERE IS THE DARKER THAN BLACK SUB?? Me WANTS. Watched the raw and need the subbed version to really know what's going on.
Will probably stay up too late waiting for it to come out.

Dinner was a highly nutritious fried spam and cheddar cheese sandwich. YUM.

I guess it's a spoiler to say Milla Jovovich was one of the guest judges. Thought it was her, from a promo I'd seen, but couldn't get any confirmation of it ahead of time. I guess she's not that big a star to warrant endless breathless promos about her appearance on the show. She might not be the greatest of actresses but she has the ability to do a wide range of roles and still be entertaining in what she does, so for that I do like her a lot. After all, she's the only draw in the increasingly convoluted plots of the Resident Evil movies.

Mainly I watch the show to see the outfits they do, for sheer curiosity's sake. Irina's was the best of the bunch, capturing the spirit of her chosen city. The others were so-so and the worst was of course the two left at the end. Funny that Christopher's saving grace was probably the belt he did lol. Nicholas' outfit could have worked, if he'd taken the top of it and expanded on it, made it a flowing dress to capture the feel of Greece.

Looking at Michael Kors' website, I am flabbergasted at the prices, simply because his name is attached, and for a design that's not really all that. $695 for a top made out of cotton spandex. A top sister could very well make. And, damn, so sad that someone would pay that much just because his name is attached. Me, I balk at paying $30 for just a top. $695 would buy me a WARDROBE lol. Or a doll. So, okay, I have different priorities lol.

No new Supernatural, just a repeat of the season premiere. Though next week is new and a few eps past that, before the holiday break. They really do need to bring Meg back again, she was so much fun in this, like usual.

Link HERE.

In another spoiler I read, from Ausiello, he says that in a future ep two supporting characters are going to die. In one of the future eps mentioned here, Ellen and Jo come back again and, gee, there's TWO of them. My bet is they're the ones going to die, which would really suck, given the show ignored them all of the fourth season, and the third season as well, if memory serves me right. Last time, prior to this season, we saw Jo was when Sam got possessed by Meg, and there was no sight of Ellen since When Hell Breaks Loose Part 2. Two good, underused characters, FEMALE characters, and they're probably getting killed off. SIGH.

Already seen promo clips for the TV show universe ep, which looks to be fun, especially the Japanese game show. Next week is old Dean which is not the same as a future old Dean but what the hell, from the brief promo, Chad Everett looks like the perfect choice to play an aged Dean who's lost none of his attitude. Much as I might like his character, he would be one of those asshole old men in the nursing home no one wants to take care of lol.

Got my first game from Gamefly. Still don't get how it takes as long to get mail to here from CA as it does East Coast. Should really come here quicker than it does but already knew that. First game is Last Remnant to utilize the lonely Xbox. Some good games coming out but no FFXIII till next summer, just about? Latest release date says June 2010, though it's getting a December release in Japan. One in particular looks good, Fairytale Fights, I think it's called. Fairy tale girls get to go postal lol.

The ending is definitely demonstrative of the rift in the MC, or at least how Jax has become isolated from the MC. The fight between Jax and Clay was long in coming. It's interesting how in the two shows I watch regulalry, this and SPN, both Bobbys happen to be the smartest ones of the bunch, and the wisest. Though where this Bobby will sit is uncertain. He's got a pure, simple dedication to the MC and it's unclear right now where he will stand. Jax's allies are becoming fewer and fewer.

ATF agent back to stir shit up with the IRA angle but no matter how she tried, couldn't get Jax to bite. Though he does toss her a little dig about Coen and how it's dangerous to be a Fed, showing that this young lion is not quite as tame as he seems.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

Well, Danskin/Triumph Apparel has done a real bonehead move. They're shifting their operations over to the Caribbean, where presumably the labor is cheaper, as they're transferring over their machines and some of their management, but of course not the people who actually run the machines, because what's the point of going to a country with cheap labor if you're not going to exploit it? So from now till March of next year they will not be producing new tights or any kind of wear. FIVE MONTHS they will not be producing product.

Simply put, they're going under. Not only have they messed up for back to school season, which is one of the biggest sell points of the year, they're missing out on holiday sales, especially in tights. Holiday time, studios do shows, they do the Nutcracker, recitals, all that stuff, and they will be wanting tights, which Danskin will not have to send out to retailers. And given that retailers do their spring ordering around the beginning of the year, they're going to miss out on spring recital sales of tights, which is almost as big as back to school. March is just a projected date and if they miss that date, they might as well fold up their tents and go home, because retailers are going to shift to other companies for the tights they need. Companies like Capezio and Bloch, they can survive on shoe sales if their tight sales are low, but when your company's product line is tights and bodywear and you're going five months without producing either? You're dead in the water.

Because it has been warm lately and when I went out to refill fluids on car, it looked clear, I wore sandals. And Mother Nature wen OH HO! I shall rain since you are wearing sandals! And thus it did rain and still rains. SIGH.

Got two pairs of shoes with my JCPenney card, received them last night, tried them on, and am 0-2. One wasn't wide enough and the Propet which was supposed to be extra wide, didn't seem really extra wide, plus the seam on the top and side of the shoe pressed into my foot, in a way that'd be uncomfortable. I wouldn't take that from a $20 pair of Payless shoes so I'm certainly not going to keep a $50 pair of shoes and hope it's less uncomfortable once it breaks in.

Glee clip, Puck doing Sweet Caroline. Damn thing refuses to embed.

This is just SOOO cute 'cause Puck is making eyes at Rachel and Finn is weirded out by it, or sensing the threat to his alpha state as the interloper encroaches on his females, and Quinn is making eyes at Puck, like, HMMM maybe he's not so bad after all? And all of a sudden I think Rachel/Puck would be really cute, Rachel drawing out his sensitive side and treating him like a person, rather than a half-wit football player going nowhere.

The little girl with the lost tooth? BIG LOVE for her reaction to daddy's story about the tooth fairy, it sounds SCARY, NO THANK YOU. Smart girl LOL. Daddy's the one to lose all the teeth apparently.

Only Dean would eat from the roast he electrocuted with a joy buzzer. EWWW lol.

Cursed joke store items? And tooth fairy? LOL. So more urban legend kinda things. And OMG STILL WITH HAM! As Sam says. And the hairy palm, which is better than going blind, but TMI! And Sam's, DUDE, DO NOT use my razor! And Dean's smirk.

AHHH the conversation with the kid, Dean setting him straight about the stories Jesse believes in, and uses Sam as the experiment when he demonstrates that the joy buzzer doesn't really deliver an electrical shock, Sam with the OMG did you just do that to me? face. The same joy buzzer that not only melted a rubber chicken but fully cooked a ham in just a few seconds. The kid's behind it then, believing the stories he's been told and even drawing the burly tooth fairy that took out the one guy's teeth.

Cas sitting on the whoopee cushion and oh so straight faced as he says, it wasn't me. And Dean with the smirk and who put that there?

Obviously Sam sees a lot of parallels between himself and Jesse. Jesse was born a hybrid of demon and human with the power to make his thoughts reality, a far more powerful gift than what Sam had. Damned dangerous in a child, whose wishes are capricious as hell, and change lightning quick. How do you solve the problem of him, then? Jesse solved it, by taking off on his own. But now he knows what he can do, and while he might be able to consciously school himself, there's going to be circumstances where he's caught off guard and makes a wish he didn't mean to make.

Is Jesse going to come into play later on? Could he well take down Lucifer? Ordinary demon, he could take, but Lucifer is not a demon, or an ordinary angel, for that matter, such as Castiel. HEH so this is where the Cas action figure thing comes in. I didn't think it would be at the convention, because you might get a convention together for the small fandom of Chuck's Supernatural books, but to get action figures made of them, the fandom would have to be MUCH bigger.

Repeat next week of this season's premiere then OldDean. New eps through mid November then a hiatus till new eps in January. SIGH.
At least there'll be Darker than Black to watch, which I was more excited to see in the raw version than Supernatural.

BIG SALES day at the store. I sold a pair of laces. TOTAL. Yeah, that was worth sitting there for hours, in between the odd customer asking for something that exists only in her head. It's Halloween season, after all, and people come out of the woodwork with odd requests that they must have filled by the weekend, because they couldn't have gone looking for it ahead of time. Sheesh.

Wow, Zobelle couldn't have gotten the Sons to follow into his setup better if he'd been leading them by the collective noses. And rather than apply the cunning and intelligence the group has shown in the past, they blundered right ahead full bore into the trap. Not only do they get busted, they got shown up for the thugs they are in front of good citizens.

This lays down at Clay's door, the whole mess. If he hadn't been so damned determined to go right at Zobelle, soon as he got the "intel" he needed, Jax could have had the time to check on it further and make sure they weren't walking into a trap. Hell, Jax's plan was to simply have the sheriff's office go get him, which worked real well, as they showed up just as the Sons are storming into a prayer service, loaded for bear.

FACEPALM.

Nice to know Chibs didn't die, yet, at least. And hopefully not at all! Though it looks like the Irish are going in with the Aryans. Not a big surprise, Irish aren't exactly tolerant of outsiders, and IRA especially. From a business viewpoint all the attention the Sons are getting is not good for their partnership.

It's continuing to be interesting, the shift of alliances, 'cause from next week's ep it looks like Bobby is more inclined to go with Jax. Bobby is one of the more levelheaded old timers and his shift to Jax's side for the vote could mean a permanent shift of loyalty. And Opie is all gung ho for Clay, with Jax not able to say a word about Clay's involvement with Donna's death. Even in his frustration with the club and Clay, Jax at least is smart enough to keep from using Donna as a wedge between Clay and Opie. He's right, it would tear the club apart, because it's one thing to kill an outsider, it's another to kill part of the family for a thing they didn't do.

Hmmm I must have been less satisfied with the latest Supernatural ep than I thought, for I haven't really felt the need to download it, and I'm now more anxiously awaiting new Darker than Black. Ah, anime, I have missed you giving me good series to watch! Been rewatching Darker than Black to get me back into the plot of it and to maybe understand what the hell Hei's doing now lol. Used to be able to count on having at least one anime series to watch in the spring and fall but only thing to catch my interest is Hetalia and it doesn't really count so much as a series, given it's a series of shorts. Guess I need to go back and search out Gintama, which I keep forgetting about.

Still with the Versus players...shoot me when I'm on the Survivors level, not the SLAYERS level, mmkay? And if your partner shoots me then you can be assured I'll be going after you, too. The microphones also drive me crazy, 'cause it's not like you're using them to direct your partner, you're chatting up whoever is in the room/on the phone and subjecting me to the yowling/chattering of whoever's in the room with you, plus whatever trash music you're playing. You're making me want to get a mic just so I can tell you to shut it off! And to quit fucking shooting me because this is SLAYERS not SURVIVORS.

So a new Resident Evil movie is filming, and the cast list released for viewing. For Chris Redfield they have cast...Wentworth Miller, of Prison Break fame. And contrary to previous news reports, the story is centered around Los Angeles, not Tokyo. According to one article I read, after they do this one, they're going back and doing a reboot of the first one? Could do worse for Chris, actor-wise, and can't off the top of my head think of anyone in that price range who could do better.

Watched a Numbers ep and should probably watch more eps through Netflix when bored at the store. In just one episode--and I don't know if they're permanent cast members--is one former cast member from Rescue Me and the actress who plays Tommy's wife.

When looking for cookware, DO NOT buy the JCPenney brand Cooks. I've only bought a crock pot but am not happy with it. The size is nice but it sweats like no other crock pot I've had before, and I think even the low setting runs too high, because it's been burning stuff that it shouldn't burn, namely the lasagna I did this morning, cooking at low. It's fine for doing roasts but anything with a sauce that can potentially burn, or ingredients that can stick to it, not good.

Plus I've learned that the reason why it's better to buy the Kraft caramels bag rather than buying them through the bulk bin, the caramels in the bulk bin take twice as long to unwrap, yikes. And you're not saving much money there, anyways, so might as well go with the Kraft. So this weekend it's been lasagna and another batch of caramel cheesecake bites, which are VERY yum. Am going to invest in a bottle of Bailey's Irish Creme with caramel next week to try another cheesecake recipe and also have to find other recipes to make use of it. More than $20 a bottle so damn right I'm going to drain every drop of it. Some kind of French toast recipe but there's got to be more things to make with it...

Already a subbed version for Darker than Black. Go HERE! It's a quick avi file, downloaded for me in no time at all. From the raw I got some of the story and the subs helped a lot for understanding, and reminds me I need to go back and watch the last few eps of the previous season.

There needs to be a Darker Than Black video game, if there already isn't? You play a contractor on a mission and if you fail to pay your remuneration post battle you die lol. And if there is a game for it, then it really needs to be ported over to the USA. And they need to do a Bluray version of Darker than Black, I would totally buy it.

Now there's something else fun to watch on Thursdays! And according to the DTB LJ community, they're producing OVAs to cover the period between first season and second season, explain maybe why Hei seems to be running solo.

Kind of a wasted trip to the Woodland studio. Sold six pairs of shoes...whoopee! When sister went to the Longview studio, she sold about $1000 worth, not just a hundred. Ah, well. Not a trip to repeat.

Am MUCH more pleased with the hair color this time. And I think I'll keep with the black for the future. Maybe black/purple? This was supposed to be blue black but I don't see any blue highlights in it at all.

Run of the mill casefile, not really distinguished by Paris Hilton's appearance. It is interesting, though, that this god uses figures from popular culture to get its sacrifices, that was a good turn of plot.

Like past case files, it has bits here and there relevant to the arc, and here it's relevant to the strained relationship between Sam and Dean. Sam makes some very good points on how Dean needs to let him grow up, because Dean does still treat him as his kid brother. Sam's always been an equal partner, to my mind, contributing as much as Dean to the solving of a case, and Dean does indeed need to learn to treat him as an equal. He can't even use what Sam did as an excuse to keep him down, because they're equally to blame for the apocalypse. Both of them took actions to bring the event around and rather than pointing fingers at each other, they need to work together to get it done.

And Paris is gone with ten minutes left to go so...what happens next, I type as I'm waiting for it to finish lol. I guess they couldn't get or didn't think about getting Jeffrey Dean Morgan to be the end boss. That woulda thrown the boys for a loop, having to lop off daddy's head.

Okay, so ending pep talk and though there was no hugging, Dean giving Sam the keys to drive is like a hug and a big SMOOCH.

Then the coming soon bit...OldDean! Is played by...gawwwd, I know this actor, James Brolin??? Was that him? Yahoo TV listings say new ep next week though I've been figuring we were headed pretty soon for a hiatus, just like last year. Last year it went from Halloween till after Thanksgiving, I think?

Sister is currently up in Woodland doing the shoe selling thing at the studio we missed before, due to the owner mixing up dates. And apparently the owner put up a flyer telling how we'll be there from 5-7PM, plus selling leotards and bodywear and such...

GAH.

Damn woman never even responded to my email, where I asked what specifically would she like us to bring, clothing wise? And said 5:30, NOT 5:00. I guess I should be satisfied she was at least literate to read the fucking email, right? Don't give me your fucking email for contact if you're NEVER GOING TO RESPOND TO EMAILS. Because if you had responded to my FIRST email? Then you would have had happy dancers already with shoes, 'cause I woulda known you meant a different date than you said and scheduled accordingly.

SIGH.

At least I'm almost done for the day, watched the first ep of Darker than Black season 2 in its raw form, will keep an eye out for the subbed version. It's been a while since I've seen the end of it and I think I need to go back and watch it to better understand what's going on. And tonight's Supernatural! With Paris Hilton. Yikes.

AND a call from a customer, looking for leotards, who is "on his way". Translate to: he'll be here just a couple minutes before close and then his kid will spend too long picking out a fucking leo and I just wanna go home, it's been so boring and it's annoying to have to stay after for a customer when it's been so slow the rest of the day.

Again with the SIGH.

Jay Smooth tells it like it is, yet again, in this Roman Polanski mess.

And from someone else's LJ, I see Harrison Ford and Emma Thompson have signed on board? Are they both bucking for roles in a future project? SHAME ON YOU, Harrison Ford. Though I have not been following your career lately, you have been one of my favorites ever since you appeared in a little movie called Star Wars. Given your last dismal outing as Indy Jones, I'm not going to find it real hard to avoid your movies. JOHNNY DEPP...even MORE with the SHAME ON YOU. Would you be so blase about his crime, if it was your own daughter?

Couldn't sleep when I first went to bed so ended up watching Audrey Rose till 3AM. Talk about a blast from the past! I read the book before the movie came out and like most cases, the book is far better, though the movie has good visceral visual impact. Audrey Rose is one of those books to never get winnowed out of my collection, though I'm not sure if I have it still, I resisted the temptation to run through the bokcases this morning. Movie starred a young Anthony Hopkins and Marsha Mason, a very interesting story about reincarnation and the lingering and fatal effect of past-life trauma. I was thirteen when it came out, yikes lol. While other teenage girls were reading...whatever teenage girls read back then, I was reading Interview with the Vampire and Audrey Rose and The Bastard.

So I can track my fascination with slash back to the teen years and the constant re-reading of certain passages involving snacking on pretty young men.

Less eventful day at the store, which was good, as today was the heavy day of my freakin' period, requiring numerous trips to bathroom. Need to have some slow days for my peace of mind. And all the same, though it's not hugely busy, I would just like a little vacation from it. A couple days off but...not gonna happen.

I'm liking the political angles of the show, the wrangling for power, Clay and Jax working to sway members to their way of thinking. I'm surprised, though, that Opie is so firmly on Clay's side in this internal conflict, I'd have thought he'd be with Jax. Bobby going over to Jax's side for the vote was hard for him, to choose prudence over old loyalty, and I was glad to see Clay didn't seem to take it personal.

That blonde bitch daughter of Zobelle's...I'm not sure if I want to see them blow a hole in her smirking face more than Henry Rollins' character.

Opie gonna be hooking up with the porn star, huh? Big difference between homemaker Donna and her.

AWWW first Otto then Chibs? He made the connection between car not starting and BOMB but a little too late. RIP, Chibs. I always enjoy the actor in the parts he plays, though his accent is hard to slog through, comprehension wise. And of course another reason I love him, for the thickness of his accent. Jax could counsel patience in striking back in the wake of Otto's attack but with Chibs dead--and I'm assuming from all that blood he was indeed dead, that kinda head wound seems like it would be mortal--it's going to
mobilize the club, especially since he was one of the dissenters. Like Jax said, it's what Zobelle wants but is he really prepared for the kind of hell the Sons can bring down on him?

Business picked up late afternoon, so that I wasn't able to actually eat my lunch till almost four. People just kept coming in and coming in and the microwave kept up its continual beeping to let me know LUNCH IS READY :) and then finally it slowed down. End of day, over $700. And I even ended up going back in after I'd locked the doors, for a woman wanting to get shorts for her daughter's b-day present, her b-day being today. So even past that and me apparently reading the show times wrong and thinking Zombieland was at 7:30 when it was at 7:15, I made it to the showing while the previews were still running.

Now, what is it about teenagers, that they can spend HOURS yakking on the phone with their friends, and yet when they have to answer the phone for someone else, they all of a sudden don't know how to talk? It's like you gotta drag the damn words out of them, sheesh.

And the words I am speaking are not for my own hearing, they are for YOU to pay attention to, young lady. I tell you we have Footundeez in nude, pink, nude w/crystals, and black. You ask for nude. I hand them over, you try them on, and then ask if I have any other prints. HEAD DESK TO INFINITY. I TOLD YOU the prints I had, YOU asked for nude, if you didn't want nude, then why did you ASK for it? GAHHH. I am really wondering if I do indeed want to be dead before these kids are running the world, because it is truly a scary prospect.

The best kill? BILL MURRAY. Bill Murray plays himself, dresses up as a zombie so he can roam the zombie apocalypse without incident, but all he does is try to scare a skinny nerd of a kid and he gets DEAD LOL. Kudos to Bill Murray, though, for lampooning himself. And in the promos for it you see one zombie get killed by a falling piano...reminiscent of a Dean death from Mystery Spot lol.
It was amusing but not classic material for me, at least. Shaun of the Dead was much more funny and more worthy of becoming a classic zombie movie.
